Dr. Sean Brimacombe grew up east of the Mississippi River finishing high school in Cleveland, Ohio. He subsequently graduated with a degree in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University. Dr. Brimacombe then moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University School of Medicine. After graduating from Tulane, he arrived here in Phoenix to start his residency at the Phoenix Orthopaedic Residency Program at Maricopa Medical Center. After the untimely closure of the program, Dr. Brimacombe transferred to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He completed his residency training, including an extra year with special focus on foot and ankle surgery and sports medicine.
In 2007, Dr. Brimacombe returned to the Valley of the Sun. He provided care at the Phoenix VA for two years. In 2009, he joined his former chief resident, Dr. Seidel, at Specialty Orthopaedic Surgery. Since joining the group, Dr. Brimacombehas practiced general orthopedics, utilizing both surgical and non-operative treatment options. He has special interest in the management of osteoporosis. His foot and ankle experience has enabled him to be the main orthopedic specialist treating wounds, foot ulcers, and infections at several local hospitals. He has expanded his practice to include chronic wound management. He was recognized in PHOENIX magazine, Top Doctors edition in 2018 for his high quality work at two HonorHealth wound clinics. Dr. Brimacombe has become a subject matter expert and speaker for several companies including Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals (Ofirmev), Melinta Pharmaceuticals (Baxdela) and Amgen (Prolia), allowing him to educate fellow healthcare providers in various cities around the United States. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
